Decision near on Australian Government
Last Updated:
The three Independents who are in a position to decide which party will form Australia's next government are expected to make a decision within the next two days.
Bob Katter, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott, have spent the weekend weighing-up which party to support.
Mr Katter says he'll make his decision as soon as he can.
"I would have hoped I made it yesterday," he said.
Mr Windsor says he's close to working out which side he'll support.
Labor is accusing the Opposition of almost intimidating the three MPs into backing the Coalition, after the Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, used a newspaper opinion piece to argue that the Independents would be defying their electorates if they supported Labor.
Tony Windsor and his fellow independents Bob Katter and Rob Oakeshott have spent the weekend mulling over which party to support.
They will hold talks together in Canberra today and Mr Windsor says they also plan to meet the leaders Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott one more time before making a final decision.
The independents are hopeful that the Coalition will join Labor in signing onto a series of parliamentary reforms.
