The most-awaited first trailer of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is here.

The trailer shows the fierce character of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). The preview demonstrates a long-list of her criminal activities including falsification of Imperial documents, ownership of stolen property, aggravated physical attack, and refusal to get arrested. Jyn Erso is a rebel soldier who is highly reckless, disobedient and often rejects orders of her superiors. “This is a rebellion, isn’t it? I rebel,” Jyn Erso says, conveys Metro.

The final shot from the trailer shows Jyn Erso in Empire uniform, and the title screen plays over a remarkable blend of the main “Star Wars” theme and Darth Vader’s Imperial March. Is Jyn Erso intended for the dark side? We really wonder.

Other than Felicity Jones, the fans can also get glimpses of many old and new faces. Fans will see Forest Whitaker playing some sort of warrior and telling the young, uncontrolled Jyn: “What will you do if they catch you? “What will you do if they break you? If you continue to fight, what will you become?”

Ben Mendelsohn takes a villainous role, while Genevieve O’Reilly or Mon Mothma, the senator-turned-rebellion-general is back. She gives Jyn her mission to stead the plans for the Death Star. Diego Luna can be seen trying to out-smoulder Poe Dameron.  The good news is that “Star Wars”  fans can see a few classic elements appearing onscreen again, like the Death Star and the huge AT-ATs. Last but not the least, the return of the most menacing  Darth Vader-y. There are already persistent rumors that he’ll appear in the film. Even the clip shows a hazy image of Vader from the back.

Metro reports it looks like  director Gareth Edwards has done good job of creating the world of the original trilogy, during which this film is set.
