“Star Wars Rogue One” updates get more interesting lately.

As the release date for the highly anticipated stand-alone Lucasfilm flick approaches, several speculations have surfaced online. Previous reports have already hinted who will be the film’s main and supporting characters, but fans are looking forward to seeing the highly talked about cameos in the upcoming movie.

For one, it has been confirmed that super villain, Darth Vader will be in the movie. Now, new rumors have started to circulate that his daughter, the beloved Princess Leia, should be given a cameo as well. The clamor to have her in the movie stems from the fans’ desire to know her character more which was not really explored in “Star Wars” 4 to 6.

“This is a really neat idea for an anthology film, as it gives a rich backstory to a small but crucial plot point in A New Hope,” Movie Pilot noted. “And because those plans wound up in Leia’s possession, it seems obvious that she should appear in a small way in Rogue One.”

“According to her original origin story, Leia was only 17 when she became a senator and it was less than a year before she began serving as a double agent for the Rebel Alliance. Her tenacity, bravery, and quick wit were essential to building up the Rebellion’s power.”

Fans will just have to wait and see whether Princess Leia will have a “Star Wars Rogue One” cameo. If fans can remember, this was not the first time her involvement in the flick has been suggested.

In a previous interview, Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the father of Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, revealed that iconic “Star Wars” characters are slated to appear in the movie.

“Some of them – but I would reveal too much,” Mikkelson replied when asked about the rumored cameos, Evening Standard reported. “There are iconic characters in our film and also characters you have never heard of. It’s a mix.”

“Star Wars Rogue One” is slated for a December 15, 2016, release.
