Star Wars Rogue One cast has finally been revealed. As we take a glimpse into the latest Star Wars saga, here is a glimpse into the five most special characters in the film.
If you’ve been charmed by R2-D2 and C-3PO, prepare to feel the opposite for K-2SO which will be voiced by Alan Tudyk. K-2SO or fondly called by Edwards as Kaytoo is the “antithesis of C-3PO.” Be ready to meet this villainous droid who resembles Chewbacca’s straightforwardness. You may choose to call it that or a lack of tact for the droid. Whatever happens, prepare yourself against this droid’s villainy.
From his cold and calculating character as Hannibal Lecter, we will see Mads Mikkelsen join the Star Wars Rogue One cast. He portrays Jyn’s long lost, distant father. While his background is still under wraps, Galen Erso is the character who’s valued and hunted for his wisdom. He finds himself at the very center of things, possessing wisdom about how the entire Star Wars universe works. Thus, the Empire and the Rebellion look to capture him so he can finally spill the beans.
Director Orson Krennic
He’s one of the Dark Forces who uses his Deathtroopers to quash the Rebels and their cause. Director Orson is one ambitious villain. What makes him interesting is that his villainy shows his smart side and efficiency. However, while his ambitions propel him upwards on the ladder, he must take care he does not fall under the wrath of Darth Vader.
Played by Felicity Jones, Jyn will give Star Wars Rogue One cast its much needed female hero. A streetsmart kid who has been fending for herself since she was 15, the Rebellion gives her a chance to redeem herself. Creating a plea deal of sorts for her sentence, she will help the Rebels navigate the underworld with her hard earned skills.
If there’s one character who has a backstory that is worth a film to tell, it’s Saw Guerrera. Forest Whitaker will see Saw navigate the shadowy path between fighting along with the Rebels against the Empire. However, Entertainment Weekly is quick to point out that even the Rebels are quite wary of Saw. As Saw first fought with Anakin Skywalker who later becomes the classic antagonist Darth Vader, he has since transformed into a mistrustful battle veteran. His allegiance is to none other than himself.
While the film’s release has been further delayed for December 15, 2017, BGR notes, these characters are worth waiting for.
