The Han Solo spinoff is progressing and three actors have been shortlisted to play the iconic “Star Wars” character but only one will finally fill in Harrison Ford’s shoes as his younger self in the iconic saga.

Disney boss Bob Iger had revealed that this spinoff will tell the story of a young Han Solo and Chewbacca. ANN had reported that casting was already underway for the spinoff. It has been revealed that the shortlist is narrowed down to three actors who could potentially play young Han Solo. These are Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor, and Taron Egerton.

Alden Ehrenreich was seen in “Blue Jasmine” and the more recent “Hail, Caesar!” He received excellent reviews for his performance in the latter. Jack Reynor is known for his work in “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” and Taron Egerton is famous for “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”

The Hollywood Reporter informed that the spinoff, like every other “Star Wars” project, is shrouded in secrecy. As a result, it is difficult to distinguish between rumours and confirmed news. The above-mentioned actors were tested last weekend, but it is not clear if those were costume tests or screen tests.

According to the Inquisitr, the three have been shortlisted from at least 10 young hopefuls. According to the publication, Emory Cohen, Ansel Elgort, and Miles Teller were also in the running for the role. Gizmodo, on the other hand, adds Blake Jenner and Jack O’Connell to the list of those who tested for the role. However, Disney is tight-lipped about the project and has not revealed any details as of yet.

According to ANN, it is being speculated that the spinoff will delve into the pasts of favourite “Star Wars” characters—Han Solo and Chewbacca. The movie is expected to reveal their early lives and might even enlighten viewers on how the pair met up.
