‘Star Wars 8’ Finn’s Fate Spoiled By Actor John Boyega as Next Episode Starts Filming

“Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” may still be making waves both domestically and internationally but discussion about the next episode, “Star Wars 8”, is already making its way around the web.

One person who was kind enough to share his insight about the next “Star Wars” film is actor John Boyega who played stormtrooper Finn in “The Force Awakens”.

Cinema Blend reports that although Finn was last seen lying unconscious when “The Force Awakens” ended, it is not hard to tell that the character will be back in “Star Wars 8”. In one of his interviews, Boyega revealed how the next film in the franchise would demand more of him physically-wise. The website relays Boyega’s quote as follows:

“My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more.”

However, apart from an increased demand on workout for the actor, Boyega also reveals that “Star Wars 8” will be much different in tone compared to “The Force Awakens”.

In a report by IGN, the website relays that Boyega revealed how “Star Wars 8” will be much darker than Episode VII. However, despite this comment, the website also relays that Boyega and his co-star Daisy Ridley are excited about what is to come with the next episode.

Meanwhile, aside from Boyega’s insights into the next “Star Wars” film, a casting call for a new lead in “Star Wars 8” may have revealed an important spoiler that hints at a dead character’s return.

According to Screen Rant, a bulletin posted in the website Movie Casting Call lists down the actors who will reprise their roles in the next episode. In this list, actor Harrison Ford was listed to return for Episode VIII which led many to speculate that (SPOILER ALERT) Han Solo’s death may not be final after all.

Although this could spark some new hope to heartbroken fans, the website lists potential reasons on how this could not be true. One, Screen Rant does not dismiss the fact that the casting website may be bogus. SR cites one tweet that says people who work for Lucasfilm have said that Movie Casting Call is not legit.

Another reason that the website states is that the casting call was posted before “The Force Awakens” premiered, so Harrison Ford’s name was still included in the list so as not to reveal Han Solo’s fate.

“Star Wars 8” is scheduled for a 2017 release date.
