The Star Wars 8 movie had a royal meet when Harry, Prince of Wales was spotted visiting the movie set on Tuesday in Pinewood Studios, Buckingham-shire. Prince Harry paid his imperial visit along with elder brother Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
On the sets of Rian Johnson’s forthcoming science-fiction sequel, the descendants of Queen Elizabeth II not only had a close look at technological wonders like X-Wing starfighters, astromech BB-8, and luminous Jedi weapon lightsaber, but also hung out with the cast. They spent quality time with Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, huge alien Chewbacca, and director Johnson himself.
Collider reports, Prince Harry and his elder brother were guided by The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley who showed them around the super secretive set. Ridley is playing Rey, the female lead in the movie who is a highly Force-sensitive scavenger from planet Jakku.
During the rounds, they talked to the cast and crew of Star Wars 8 and played with lightsabers. Harry met a new best friend there in the form of an adorable giant. He is the loyal Wookiee warrior companion of Han Solo known as Chewbacca. A lovely alien entity, who just looks scary. It seems the Prince got totally rapt by the beastly hairy creature.
He cutely broke the imperial code of behavior by hugging Chewbacca – played by Joonas Suotamo.
Later, Prince William had a cuddle too.
Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, and Boyega, who plays Finn, were also on set with Johnson to answer any questions. Luke Skywalker is a powerful Jedi master and Finn is a former First Order storm-trooper who joined the Resistance. The younger royal also got some lecture on piloting X-wing from the veteran instructor Luke. Is he going to be our next Han Solo?
The Royal siblings eventually challenged each-other with lightsabers.
“Why do I always have to be the baddie?” Harry asked as he was handed a red lightsaber.
“Are you scared?” William replied in an angry tone.
