The San Antonio Spurs will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Game 3 of the NBA Play-Off series on Friday, May 6, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, starting 9:30 PM ET.
As per the official NBA reports, the Thunder “seized a frenzied and controversial home victory” over the Spurs in a tight Game 1 encounter. It could have been anybody’s game, but the Thunder held their nerves to clinch Monday night’s 98-97 victory over the visitors.
The series is now tied at 1-1 with the Spurs looking to overturn things in their favour on Friday. “Now it’s our job to react,” Spurs point guard Tony Parker said. “Everybody on this team understands that to win a championship, you have to win on the road. So that’s our job now.”
“We have to come into the game like we’re down 0-2,” Waiters said. “We know that’s how they’re going to approach the game. We know they’re going to come in and do what they do. We have to match their intensity.
“We know it’s important to take care of home-court advantage. We have to come in with the mindset of coming in to win and compete, play hard as possible and play smart.”
The starters need to get off to a good start against the Thunder as they missed 12 of their 13 shots in game 1. “We have got to be sharp. We have got to be better, have a better start,” said Aldridge. “We have to focus offensively and defensively, just be locked in and all the way around better.”
San Antonio Spurs probable starters: Lamarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, Danny Green, Tony Parker
