San Antonio Spurs will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second game of their NBA Play-Offs campaign at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on Monday, May 2, starting 9:30 pm ET.
The Spurs have already gained a lead in the first game at Oklahoma City, last weekend, with a 124-92 win. They now look to capitalise on the home advantage and take the lead to 2-0 in Monday night’s game, notes the official NBA reports.
“Now we’ve got to get back to the drawing board and see what we’ve got to do better to get ready for Game 2,” Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook said. “Come out and play with a different mindset.”
As per the media notes, the Game 1 margin was “the biggest defeat” Thunder coach Billy Donovan “has dealt with in more than 17 years.” Still, he remained optimistic about their chances in the second game.
“I think the guys in that locker room are pretty competitive,” Donovan said. “I think they’re going to want to come back and respond.”
Lamarcus Aldridge has been excellent with his form in the first game. He scored 38-points to help the Spurs gain the upper hand in the series.
Coach Gregg Popovich stated that Aldridge did manage pretty well to get comfortable with the Spurs. When asked about how long it took for Aldridge to get comfortable, Popovich exclaimed, “I don’t know an exact date.”
“It was a progression. Any new player in a new programme, it’s a progression. It takes a little bit of time to get comfortable with the system and secondly, with teammates – who does what, when, where, how, all that kind of thing. It was just a steady kind of improvement and recognition as the year went on.”
