Splatoon: New Set of Squid Sisters Amiibo of Nintendo to Release in July


The popular lineup of Amiibo figures will get its new additions. Nintendo has announced that new characters will be introduced to its popular Wii U shooter Splatoon and will be immortalized in plastic.

The Duo of Callie and Marie AKA the Squid Sisters is the most notable characters in the Amiibo figures of Nintendo. However, these are not playable, the pair is a prominent character in the game. These are generally used to announce the latest new levels and features on a daily basis.

The existing Splatoon Amiibo unlocks various challenges and character equipment. Both characters offer bonuses that appear to be more simple. The trailer shows that the new characters of Nintendo will provide alternative music and background dancers for the main hub, notes We Got This Covered.

In recent years, Splatoon has gained bigger hits while the Squad Sisters are fan favourites. So it is not surprising that many fanatics would eagerly purchase those Nintendo’s characters.

In addition, the existing Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl figures of Nintendo will be available in alternately coloured variants. However, there are no confirmations are available regarding their functionality to be any different than the current versions.

According to Destructoid, Both Callie and Marie is scheduled to release on Jul. 7 in Japan, Jul. 8 in North America and Europe. The new characters of Nintendo will be launched in New Zealand in July. 9. Strangely, Japan and Europe will be selling the two separately, while Australians and Americans will have to purchase it in a combo pack for US$25.

Along with the variants, Nintendo’s Inkling Squid Amiibo will be launched in July and can be purchased for $35. It will also be sold individually for $13.
