Tom Holland has assured fans that we will be seeing a different superhero in the Spiderman Homecoming movie. He also hinted that Peter Parker may go down a darker path.
Holland said viewers will see in the movie a 15-year-old kid dealing with everyday problems that average teens have, but at the same time, Peter is helping the city in fighting criminals. In the past Spiderman movies, viewers have seen Peter living his post-high school life.
Holland added that Peter will be torn between what he is trying to do with his new-found power and what is going on with the Avengers. It can be recalled that Tony Stark recruited Spiderman to join Team Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War. Clearly, Peter wants to join the team but he still has high school stuff to deal with.
“We’re really battling with the concept of “What would a 15-year-old kid do if he had superpowers?” Would he do the right thing or would he be steered down a darker path?” Holland told MTV.
The young actor also hinted that there might be some changes in Spidey’s suit. Fans last saw the superhero swinging around in Civil War. Although he refused to divulge some details of the new suit, he told Comic Book it is going to be very cool. Holland also revealed that Peter will be using his stint in high school in creating gadgets like his web cartridges.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that actor Michael Keaton will be playing the Vulture, the main villain in the Spiderman Homecoming movie.
Holland shared his reaction to Vulture’s tech-based suit and said the movie teaser showed at Comic Con barely revealed anything on what is about to be featured in the movie.
