Marvel has a new villain, and he bears a striking resemblance to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Who knows, the character may appear in the upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming.
Apparently, the character is called MODAAK or “Mental Organism Designed as America’s King.” The new Marvel villain was based on MODOK, which means “Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing.”
The character is one of the known adversaries of Captain America. In the story, MODOK fought against Cap, when Steve Rodgers tries to save agent Sharon Carter of SHIELD from Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM) which MODOK took control of.
The reinvented MODOK, named MODAAK, has appeared in the first issue this year of Spider Gwen, which was published on Wednesday (June 29). The comic book edition was written by Jason Latour.
Some Twitter users shared excerpts from the comic book, which showed MODAAK fighting Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider Gwen. MODAAK, a tiny-handed and orange-skinned creature sitting on a floating chair, can be seen leading his AIM forces close to the US-Mexico border. The character then said: “If American will not act — M.O.D.A.A.K must!”
However, when he is about to utter his battle cry of “Must make America–“, he was hit by the shield thrown by Captain America. But MODAAK still delivered his last words about his hands as he crashes to the ground.
This is not the first time the real estate mogul has been illustrated as a villain. It can be recalled that Trump’s head was placed over “Game of Thrones” villainous character Xaro Xhoan Daxos. The mashup video has gone viral earlier this year.
RT wrote that Donald Trump is not the first presidential candidate to have a look-a-alike comic character. Democratic Party candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have also been featured in a comic book published by Storm Entertainment.
There is no confirmation as of yet if MODAAK will appear in “Spiderman: Homecoming.” Actor Tom Holland, who will play the role of Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spiderman, has started filming for the movie. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), on the other hand, has already hinted that he will appear in the film. The movie is set to hit theaters in July 2017.
