The tech giant, Sony went ahead and introduced the Sony Xperia X lineup at the Mobile World Congress 2016. Whispers about the Sony Xperia Z6 have even more intensified due to the uncertainty of the launch.

Chances are fans may never get introduced to the Xperia Z6 series, but the possibility cannot be ruled out just yet since the official word doesn’t directly suggest that these may be the case. Reportedly, a Sony spokesperson shared with the folks over at Tech Radar, “Although we can never confirm about the future possibilities of our product line-up, we can share with you that we have no plan to launch Xperia Z6 at this stage.” Could “at this stage” indicate at the flagship not launching this year, but sometime next year or in the future? Because AndroidPIT heard from Sony Mobile US, in a statement which said, “The Z series is not going away. We want to make it clear.”

While this has made matters more confusing, it can be said that those who were eagerly waiting for the Xperia Z6 lineup to land shouldn’t be holding their breath. The handset could still be arriving way into the future.

For what it’s worth, months of speculations and rumours painted a pretty picture of the Xperia Z6 lineup. If and when it does arrive, the smartphone is expected to sport a revamped design with an all-metal body for a more premium feel. Additionally, it may feature a 5.2-inch display which could either be a 1080p or QHD screen. And of course, if guesses and speculations were to be made about the camera onboard, it would most likely boast of a 23MP snapper.

If and when there will be any further information about the Sony Xperia Z6 arrival that will be made public, fans can surely find it here.
