Shy UFO? Aliens Suspected to be Hiding Behind Jupiter

UFO hunters claim that NASA’s Juno spacecraft captured a footage of an alien spacecraft flying over Jupiter. The alleged UFO evidence was uploaded on YouTube by the UFO believer group Section 51 and has been watched by more than 120,000.

“On July 6, 2016, Juno spacecraft has successfully started orbiting Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system,” the video’s accompanying article on Section 51’s website states. “But first pictures captured by JUNO revealed a mysterious UFO hovering over the giant red spot during few minutes before leaving in deep space.”

Despite the excitement surrounding, this, the UFO claim is most likely false. Many believe that the alien spacecraft was probably created using CGI animation.

This is not the first time that Jupiter was involved in theories about alien life. Its moon Europa is believed to contain an ocean that has the right chemical balance to support life despite the lack of volcanic hydrothermal activity.

In a study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, scientists say that a deep ocean of salty liquid water is hiding beneath Europa’s icy shell. The researchers estimate that the water could reach as deep as 25 kilometers or 15 miles into the moon’s rocky interior. NASA is now planning to start a mission on Europa and determine its potential habitability.

As of now, Jupiter remains a mystery, but we will soon gather more details about the planet once Juno starts analyzing it.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft successfully entered the gas giant’s orbit after almost five years. Its mission is to understand where Jupiter came from and how it evolved.

Juno will circle Jupiter 37 times, flying as close as 4,100 kilometers or 2,600 miles from the Jovian planet. On July 10 at 10:30 a.m. PDT (1:30 p.m. EDT, 5:30 UTC), the spacecraft released the first photo taken in Jupiter’s orbit when it was 4.3 million kilometers or 2.7 million miles from the gas giant.
