Compassion overflowed following news of the Selena Gomez Lupus break from the limelight. However, did Mother Monster encourage her to quit altogether?
Far from it. In truth, Lady Gaga voiced her support for the young singer in her battle to overcome her current health issues. News of the Selena Gomez Lupus health scare put the brakes on the young singer’s Revival Tour. Selena opted to take a break from the spotlight after the onset of anxiety and panic attacks. This is her second break from the public eye after 2013 after her initial diagnosis. Fans expressed their support for her through their loving tweets. Now, it is Mother Monster’s turn to cheer her on.
In an interview with Cubby and Carolina Bermudez of KTU 103.5, Lady Gaga spoke about why it is important to take a moment for one’s self. Her thoughts seemed to reveal her own struggle with fame as an artist. Hence, Mother Monster’s words of wisdom would surely be encouraging for others.
“… fame is, is very isolating, something that takes a moment for you to stabilize yourself, especially if you’re really in it for the music, or your craft, because it can be a distraction from all of those things. Suddenly, it’s about keeping up with your career, or keeping up with number ones, or you know, being on top,” Lady Gaga responded. According to Hollywood Life, the radio hosts asked her opinion on the effects of fame and on why some end up sacrificing their wellbeing for the sake of it.
Lady Gaga also revealed why it took a while before she released another album. According to Mother Monster, she spent the last three years working on herself. She debuted her latest track Perfect Illusion. Speculations rose as to the meaning behind the song. Some surmised it was a breakup song since it dropped after news of her split from boyfriend Taylor Kinney.
