Scream Season 2 is just around the corner and this time, it’s no longer safe to trust anyone in Lakewood anymore.

In Scream Season 2, Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) returns to the town that was terrorised by a serial killer in the previous year. The killer aka Ghostface was later found out to be Emma’s long-lost half-sister, Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire).

Season 2 will pick up from where the show left off, introducing new characters and victims. The newcomers include overachiever Zoe (Kiana Lede), “dark and brooding” outsider Gustavo (Santiago Segura), psychology professor Karen Lang (Austin Highsmith) and Tina Hudson (Karina Logue).

The town is still quite shaken up by the incident, and even Emma’s friends doubt she has already moved on. A person who claims to know about Audrey’s (Bex Taylor-Klaus) connection with the killer comes around and messes with her. Coincidentally, there happens to be another murderous maniac running amuck.

The MTV series, which is based from the Wes Craven slasher hit, might even add a familiar face to the mix. Actress Neve Campbell, the star of the original Scream movies, was asked if she was going to make a special cameo appearance in Scream Season 2.

“I was invited when it was starting, but it didn’t seem to make sense to me,” Campbell told Hollywood Life. “Well I wasn’t working at the time — I was just being a mom; but also, because I’m a part of the films, for some reason, it didn’t make sense to me.”

Campbell also admitted that she has never seen the show. After going on hiatus in 2012, Campbell made her TV return in House of Cards.

MTV has released an official trailer for the series, together with a few promos that will definitely give fans the chills.

Scream Season 2 will premiere on MTV on May 31.
