Reality TV star Scott Disick has postponed his trip to Dubai next week. He was scheduled to appear in the opening of Sugar Factory at the Dubai Festival City on Friday, Oct. 14. The postponement comes at the heels of another cancellation made by Kim Kardashian for a makeup class in Dubai on the same day.
On October 5, Sugar Factory announced the impending arrival of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. However, a day later, The National revealed that the company sent out a notice to members of the media that the event will be “postponed until further notice.”
It is unclear why Disick and Sugar Factory decided to postpone the event. It is also still unconfirmed if the decision is related to the cancellation of a makeup masterclass that was supposed to feature Kim Kardashian in Dubai on the same day. Kim had been appearing in similar masterclass events with her longtime makeup artist and good friend, Mario Dedivanovic over the past year.
The cancellation of Kim’s event came just days after she was robbed at gunpoint during a trip to Paris. The incident took place in the early hours on Monday, after Kardashian returned to a luxury apartment that she was staying in. She had spent the early evening making the rounds at the events for Paris Fashion Week. People reports that about US$10 million worth of jewellery was stolen from the reality star.
The family is reportedly re-assessing their security situation, with their longtime bodyguard, Pascal Duvier in the spotlight. Ultimately, Kanye West, Kim’s husband, will have to decide on his fate.
With the whole Kardashian clan clearly shook up from the incident, it is not a far cry to say that Scott Disick is also taking security precautions. No official statement from his camp has so far been released in relation to the postponement.
