When it comes to rumors and speculations about the Samsung Galaxy S7, fans probably think they have heard it all, right from curved displays to ESS Audio Chip to Snapdragon and Exynos variants and more.
As it turns out, now more details have surfaced about the snapper on board and other specs. According to a report on Sam Mobile, a trademark application by Samsung has been unearthed by a Korean website. The application indicates that the Korean tech-giant has trademarked BRITECELL and is titled, “image sensor for mobile phones.” The information reveals that the upcoming flagship may feature a 12MP primary camera with a large ½-inch sensor.
However, until now the Galaxy S lineup has featured ISOCELL sensors. So take the news with a pinch of salt and wait for more details to come around.
It is also rumored that two variants of the upcoming Galaxy device will be launched, one with an Exynos 8890 chipset and the other with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 Processor. Depending on the regions, either of the two versions of the device will be sold.
It is speculated that the two variants may launch with a 5.2-inch screen and 5.7-inch display. One of the versions may show-off a flat display and the other a curved one, much like the S6 Galaxy series.
In another report by G for games citing analyst Pan Jiutang, who anticipates that the Galaxy S7 may most likely retail at 10% less than its predecessor, the Galaxy S6. This news comes in after Samsung’s Vice Chairman Kwon Oh-Hyun shared that they may be looking at “restructuring of launch price” for the upcoming devices in order to boost sales.
Most reports hint at a January 2016 launch for the flagship, Samsung Galaxy S7, and more details are bound to surface once the announcement inches closer.
