Months ago details about the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active had begun to do the rounds and some new information has now emerged on that front. Those who have been keeping an eye out for any word on the rugged smartphone will be happy to learn that the offering may be launched as early as next month.
Popular tipster Evan Blass shared an image of what is said to be the Galaxy S7 Active in a shade of gold. As per the screen image, it can be assumed that the offering will be making its way out on June 10 this year. And it is only fitting since, its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 Active arrived in June 2015.
As noted by Blass, the leaked image is an AT&T model of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active and bears the model number SM-G891A. Now, it is also known that the offering would be made available in a “camo green” option as shared by GalaxyClub.
With the smartphone also recently making its presence felt on GFX bench, more details have been revealed. The offering will possess a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, which is a really neat upgrade from its predecessor that was embedded with a 5.1 inch screen. Other details on the benchmarking site read out to be a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with Adreno 530 and 4GB RAM. The device will be shipping with the marshmallow flavour right out of the box.
As reported earlier, the Active variant is said to land embedded with a larger battery when compared to the Galaxy S7. And again, it is also being predicted that the company will continue with the IP68 protection on the Galaxy S7 Active as well, making it dustproof and waterproof much like the rest of the Galaxy S7 lineup.
