Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes Secretly Welcome Second Child

Actor Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have welcomed their second child, reports TMZ. The pregnancy was kept a secret for a long time and so was the birth.

According to the birth certificate issued by St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Eva Mendes gave birth to a baby girl named Amada Lee Gosling on April 29. The mother’s name is listed as Eva de la Caridad Mendez and Ryan Thomas Gosling is stated as the father.

The couple also has another daughter, Esmeralda Amada, born on September 2014. Both their children thus share the same name, Amada, which is actually the name of Mendes’s grandmother, notes Cosmopolitan.

News.com.au notes via an AAP staff report that rumours about Eva Mendes’s pregnancy began circulating in February this year after the actress appeared to try and hide her pregnancy during a photo shoot in Los Angeles. Also, photos snapped by the paparazzi showed the “Ghost Rider” actress trying to hide her baby bump with strategically placed handbags and baggy clothing.

The couple has not given statements to confirm the news. As quoted by Cosmopolitan, Mendes, after giving birth to Esmeralda, stated that it was their desire to keep her pregnancy a private affair. “Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair, but that’s our reality. Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could. And my pregnancy was the first opportunity to give her that,” Mendes had said.

Mendes has just lost her brother Juan Carlos Mendez to cancer a month ago. So, an official announcement of the birth of Amada Lee will understandably be delayed to pay respects to the memory of Juan Carlos, who had been battling throat cancer for two years.

Well, here’s wishing all the very best to the new bundle of joy in Mendes and Gosling’s lives. Ryan Gosling’s upcoming comedy and crime drama “The Nice Guys” co-starring Russell Crowe and directed by Shane Black releases on May 20 in the United States.
