Everyone has been waiting for MMA Ronda Rousey fight but new rumors surfaced that the fighter is already considering retirement.
The former UFC champion has responded to retirement rumors with a simple photo. The internet recently went crazy after reports of Rousey considering stepping down instead of fighting again came out.
Rousey hit back on rumors and shared her infamous “FTA” saying on Instagram to deny the rumors.
Rousey has yet to set a date for her come back on the ring. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was expected to make a grand return at the UFC 205 in November. The fight is set at the Madison Square Garden in New York. UFC 205 will be the first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship fight card in New York. Many believe that a Ronda Rousey fight could be the perfect headliner for the event.
MMA Mania however reported that is unlikely that Rousey will be making a comeback this year. Apparently, the reason behind the delay for Rousey’s return is the knee surgery that the she had two months ago.
Rousey has not fought since her second-round knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres earlier this year, Rousey admitted that the thought of committing suicide went through her mind after her loss to Holm.
The MMA fighter is currently busy with her acting career. Rousey is set to appear in Peter Berg’s action film Mile 22. She will also star in the remake of the 1989 cult classic action drama Road House. The reboot will mark Rousey’s biggest acting job to date as she will step into the role that made Patrick Swayze famous. Road House production is set to begin this year. The fighter previously appeared in The Expendables 3, Furious 7, and Entourage. Rousey also expressed of playing Captain Marvel but the role was given to Brie Larson.
Rousey also seems to be busy training her sister. A photo of them was shared online recently.
Meanwhile, a lot of UFC fighters are also eager for Rousey’s return. One of which is the current women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.
She already expressed her interest of fighting Rousey. Apparently, Nunes is confident that she would be able to take down Rousey to prove that she deserves to be the bantamweight champion.
