Fans awaiting the release of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” on PS4 may have been disappointed with the recent outcome of E3 2016 since no release date has been announced by Square Enix.

As per Push Square, it was not really expected that a release date would be announced on Sony’s press conference. However, dating when “Rise of the Tomb Raider” would come out on the PS4 would have been logical if it were detailed on the PlayStation blog. Still, according to the website, no such details were shared on the blog either.

It is highly unlikely that the release of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” on PS4 would be canceled, but a proper announcement of the game‘s arrival on the console is certainly taking ages.

Another factor that contributes to E3 2016 being a disappointment is that reports a month before the event actually suggested that a “Rise of the Tomb Raider” announcement will be made at the expo.

In an article by Movie News Guide dated May 22, Square Enix was quoted in posting, “We’ve got some other exciting demos lined up on the show floor, but we’ll save those updates for our Road to E3 Part 2 blog, which will feature some exciting Tomb Raider news and details on a few new games that our team has been hard at work on.”

No one knows what exactly Square Enix is thinking about, but one thing is for sure: fans will be there listening when a concrete date is set for “Rise of the Tomb Raider’s” PS4 debut.

On other related news, a Game of the Year (GOTY) edition of the game was reportedly listed on Amazon. However, an updated news from Game Reactor had Square Enix clarifying that the listing only pertained to a local promo and not a GOTY.
