Fans awaiting the release of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” on PC have something more concrete to hold on to because an actual release date has been announced.
GameSpot reports that “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will officially launch on PC this coming January 28. The website recalls that the game first launched on Xbox One and Xbox 360 as timed exclusives last November 2015.
According to the website, Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes Software are responsible for developing the PC edition of the Lara Croft adventure. In terms of the game’s PC audience, Crystal Dynamics Co-Studio Head Ron Rosenberg was quoted as saying:
“PC players are a passionate, devoted audience and we know they’ll embrace the version created for their systems.”
GameSpot reports that the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” PC edition will support 4K resolution that will give optimal detail to players.
In matters of cost, Engadget details that the game’s standard PC version will retail at $60 while the Digital Deluxe version will cost $90. The Digital Deluxe costs more because it includes a Season Pass to current and future DLCs of the game. A more premium version, called the Collector’s Edition, is also available at the Square Enix e-store.
According to Engadget, for the price of $150, the Collector’s Edition will include a Season Pass, a 12-inch Lara Croft statue, and other goodies.
Gematsu relays a rundown of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” as follows:
“After uncovering an ancient mystery, Lara must explore the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia to find the secret of immortality before a ruthless organization known as Trinity. Lara must use her wits and survival skills, form new alliances, and ultimately embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider.”
In terms of the game’s release on Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4), GameSpot reveals that it will not be until holiday 2016.
