To promote “Rise of the Tomb Raider,” Square Enix is handing out free keys of the popular game.

In a report by Anandtech, the video game developer responsible for bringing us the “Final Fantasy” series is giving away 200 game keys of Lara Croft’s most recent adventure. The game keys are used to unlock the action adventure game on the Windows 10 store.

The keys cannot be used to redeem the game on Steam, although the gaming distribution platform currently offers the game at a 10 percent discount.

GreenManGaming, another distribution platform, has a better offer as it slashes 25% off on the price of the PC game. The $40 price looks more reasonable as it placed the game at the second spot when it comes to having the most sales.

All these are done to promote the PC version of the Lara Croft game released last week — and with good results.

According to Siliconera, “Rise of the Tomb” Raider remains consistent at the number 1 spot in Steam’s top sellers.

The game may have been recently released but it was actually first unveiled for Xbox One users last November 2015. The PC release, however, is said to be better in terms of graphics compared to its home game console counterpart. There is quite a number of effect features exclusive in the PC such as environmental lighting, better soft shadows with sunlight, more complex objects and improved quality of images.

A lot of tech savvy people and game reviewers on the net have posted a video or written guides on how to tweak the game to its full potential in terms of optimization regardless if you have a high end or a low-spec rig.
