Soon after Queen Elizabeth II was declared the longest reigning British monarch in history, surpassing her great grandmother Queen Victoria’s reign record, she will be making a shocking announcement.

According to a report on Hollywood life, the Queen has decided to coronate her beloved grandson Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton as the next King and queen respectively.

Apparently, this abrupt decision made by the Queen has bewildered Prince Charles, who was eagerly waiting for the throne. OK Magazine particularly noted about the resentment where a palace insider mentioned,“They’re stunned, the idea of having Charles step aside for the good of the monarchy had been whispered about, but they never believed it would happen.”

The source also added that Kate Middleton was extremely excited and immediately called her parents up to share the good news, the palace insider noted, as quoted by Hollywood Life.

Though there are many questions being raised about whether it is appropriate to pass on the sceptre to the young prince instead of his deserving father, we agree with a lot of people who feel that this adorable young couple would look great as King and Queen.

According to Hollywood Life, the insider of the British Royal Family asserted that although it is very difficult for Prince Charles and his wife Camilla to accept it, they absolutely understand that there has to be a valid reason behind the step taken by his mother.

In the words of the royal insider, “Charles begrudgingly understands why it’s best for the crown to skip a generation, for the sake of keeping the royal family relevant and vital.”

While nothing has been confirmed, the 33-year-old Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who recently celebrated the birth of their newborn daughter Princess Charlotte four months ago, will definitely be enjoying the decision if ever.

Should it push through, reports say they are likely to be crowned on the Queen’s 90th birthday in next April.
