The return of Michael Scofield to the small screen could possibly be put in jeopardy. One of the show’s stars was recently “seriously hurt” while shooting for the Prison Break revival.

According to, the revived limited series will still push through as scheduled. But an actor really was rushed to the hospital after he met an accident during the show’s filming in Morocco. A spokesperson for Fox confirmed the accident in a statement.

“Our friend and colleague Dominic Purcell was injured earlier this week… and was flown to a medical facility where he received treatment,” the statement read. Fox did say Purcell was doing better, though. “We are happy to report that he is in great spirits and is expected to make a full recovery,” the studio added in their statement. “He wanted us to express his appreciation to the fans around the world… and to reassure them that he will be back at work very soon.”

Meanwhile, according to, Purcell himself assured fans that filming for the Prison Break revival will go on as scheduled. He even posted a selfie online to show he’s recovering. “I’m good… Had a little accident on set. [But] back at work asap,” he wrote on Instagram. He also thanked fans for their support and even made light of what happened to him. “Pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your head!!” he added. “I got a free nose job out of it… Stoked to be alive.” The actor suffered from a head injury and a broken nose after a set piece accidentally fell on him last week.

Purcell plays Lincoln Burrows, Michael Scofield’s brother on the show. “Prison Break” will return on Fox as a limited series in 2017. It’s first four seasons were originally released from 2005 to 2009.
