Has “Pretty Little Liars” really been cancelled? Is the next season the last we see of Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily? Is season 7 really the final one?
According to Hollywood Life, rumours of the series’ end have yet to be confirmed. However, actress Lucy Hale earlier told James Corden that the end might be near for the show. “It is ending,” Hale, who plays Aria Montgomery, said. “We’ve been doing it for six years… and I think that all good things must come to an end.”
Hale also told Corden what ending she would like the girls to have. “I used to say I wanted the show to end with them walking away in the sunset. They’re all happy living an A-free life, like no drama, right?” Lucy admits. “But I don’t. I want it to end really tragically.” So, will season 7 really be the end for our favourite Liars? We don’t know this for sure right now. However, in a separate report, Hollywood Life said that the next season might be “the beginning of [the] end.”
“Pretty Little Liars” creator Marlene King earlier said they are open to letting fans “decide the fate” of the series. “I think we’ll let the fans tell us what they want,” Marlene told Variety last year. “I think we’re open to [a Season 8].”
The show was earlier renewed by ABC. Season 7 is set to have 20 episodes, just like season 6. “Pretty Little Liars” season 7 will begin airing on June 2016. King earlier confirmed on Twitter that the title of the first episode would be “Tic Tock, Bitches.”
Meanwhile, it’s not all bad news for the show’s fans. Hollywood Life pointed out that King did say that season 7 will be the “most romantic season ever.” Fan favorite couples – Ezria, Spaleb, Emison and Haleb – are set to return.
