The pretty little liars of Rosewood, Pennsylvania are back and this time they have changed–but maybe not so much.
Although “Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B will not be back on air until January 12, a recent teaser art for the second half of season six has been released.
US Weekly reports that ABC Family released a promotional art for the series that offers some subtle clues regarding the remaining episodes for this season as well as major changes to the five ladies.
In the recently released art, Hannah (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) are sporting their new looks. This suggests that much has changed with these characters considering the five-year time jump that the show will be introducing in 6B. Even the fashion statement of the liars suggest that they are working on forming their careers.
However, apart from the girls’ looks, US Weekly points out that some of the elements in the teaser may also hint on what’s to come. For one, the website suggests that the soil pouring out of Spencer’s car may indicate the kind of terror the liars are about to face. On the other hand, US Weekly also analyzes that Aria’s distant look could mean there is some animosity going on within the group.
Entertainment Weekly also raises the issue that maybe, the dirt coming out of Spencer’s car is a hint at another dead body that the liars may be involved in. Did any of the ladies murder somebody? The poster appears to be raising more questions than giving answers.
Meanwhile, MTV also took notice of other elements in the teaser.
For instance, instead of interpreting Aria as looking far off the distance, the website suggests that she may be giving a side-eye to Ali. If indeed this is the case, MTV thinks that Aria still does not trust Alison after everything she put them through.
MTV also takes notice of Emily hiding behind Hannah, which the website interprets as having to do with Emily’s big secret.
“Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B will premiere on January 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family (which will be called Freeform by then).
