The “Pretty Little Liars” official poster for the second half of season 6 is out and it suggests that more trouble awaits the liars.
TV Line shares the image and it shows the five liars — Aria, Hannah, Emily, Alison, and Spencer — in black attire. What is more prominent in the shot is that the liars are carrying a casket and the tag line “Are you strong enough to carry your secrets?” is there to support it.
Much like the teaser poster showed weeks ago, elements of this official poster offer clues as to what the remaining part of season 6 will mean for the Rosewood girls.
For one, the casket element may signify that another dead body will turn up before season 6 ends. Furthermore, since the liars are the ones carrying the casket, it is safe to say that they will have a part or they will be responsible on why that person turns up dead in the first place.
Of course, the casket could just serve as a metaphorical representation of the secrets that the girls want to bury. However, fans who have been with the series for the past six years know better that in Rosewood, murder is the norm.
Apart from clues incorporated within the new poster, another thing noticeable is the way the liars changed. E! Online notes that the five-year jump the show will embark on when it returns will show the new personalities and transformations of the beloved protagonists.
You can visit E! Online here for the site’s exclusive photos of Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse, Troian Bellisario, and Ashley Benson channeling their characters from the show. The photos show a different side for each liar — departing from their younger personalities.
The second half of “Pretty Little Liars” season 6 is scheduled to return on air on Tuesday, January 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family (which will be renamed Freeform).
