Zayn Malik’s solo debut, “Pillowtalk” is a success. The track has reached no.1 spot in 60 countries on iTunes on the day it was released.

“Pillowtalk,” which is Malik’s debut solo single after leaving his five-member band One Direction last year, also became Twitter’s most shared and discussed track for many hours on Friday, Billboard reports. The track also accompanied a music video featuring Malik with his rumoured girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid.

The 23-year-old star was overwhelmed with the success of his song “Pillowtalk”and expressed his feelings on Twitter. “Crazy love today :). This s**t is crazy … I can’t believe it. Blown away… Love you all,” Malik tweeted.

The former One Directioner then also flirted with Hadid on Twitter. “@GiGiHadid you seen the video babe? Someone’s looking,” Malik wrote, alongside a perfect-hand-gesture and a tongue-out Emoji.

Hadid responded in an equally witty manner saying, “Nah musta missed it. Jokes.. I wasn’t looking at myself, trust me.” She ended her tweet with love-heart-eyes and many flames Emojis.

In his latest interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1 host Zane Lowe, the Bradford-born musician said the song will feature on his upcoming solo debut album, “Mind of Mine.” The singer started writing the album soon after his split from One Direction. Malik also sparked speculations that the song is about his ex-girlfriend Perrie Edwards as he was still engaged to her at the time of writing the song.

The song also featured explicit lyrics, including, “F–king you and fighting on, it’s our paradise and it’s our war zone. In your bed all day, bed all day, bed all day.” Malik also confessed to The Sunday Times in his previous interview that “Pillowtalk” has a sexual theme.

“It’s [“Pillowtalk”] all about sex,” Malik told the website.“Everybody has sex, and it’s something people wanna hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very big part of life.”
