It looks like venting oneself out through music, has become a new trend in the industry. After Taylor Swift now it is Perrie Edwards who opened up and slammed her ex Zayn Malik in her next yet-to-be-released single.

To date, we have seen Taylor Swift expressing herself through her music. She has let the world know how she felt every time she is in a new relationship or went through a breakup. Walking on her footstep, the Little Mix member is now all set to bash the former One Direction vocalist.

Dubbed as Shout to My Ex, the single is expected to pull a lot attention. Although the 23-year-old never blamed Zayn directly, the lyrics of her song have done the job pretty well. Every word of it seemed to be written and sang against Malik. It looks like the breakup has caused Perrie an emotional breakdown in the past.  It has given her scars, which are going to be there for the rest of her life. This time, her pain can be felt through her music.

Expressing the pain of that brutal breakup Perrie’s line sings: “Heard he in love with some other chick, yeah that hurt me I’ll admit, forget that boy I’m over it.” Here she even subtly mentioned Zayn’s current love interest model Gigi Hadid.

Perrie Edwards had a steady relationship with Zayn for four long years that ended last July.  She indicated towards that time and continues: “Took four long years to call it quits. Forget that boy I’m over it.”

The lyrics go on: “You made my heart break, and that made me who I am.” At some parts, Perrie doesn’t even hesitate to bring their sex life out in the public. Her lyrics define: “I hope she gettin’ better sex, Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe.”

She has also referred to the tattoo Zayn had of her face on his bicep, singing: “Guess I should say thank you, For the ‘hate yous’ and the tattoos, Oh baby I’m cool by the way, Ain’t sure I loved you anyway,” reports Mirror.

As predicted by Perrie’s brandmate Jade Thirlwall : “Shout Out to My Ex is a song that we’re sure loads of people can relate to. It’s all about moving on after a relationship ends to bigger and better things, and leaving the past where it should be.”

Shout Out to My Ex by Perrie Edwards is releasing on October 16.
