It is well known that Outlander is based on the Scotish uprising and romance between Jamie Fraser and his time travelling wife Claire Randall Fraser. Fans have been waiting for the much awaiting action which was until this week was very few.

It is not just a story of a dashing Scotsman flirting with his lady love intrepid nurse. There are actions too. Previous episodes were shown duels, skirmishes, and some nasty dustup, but now Outlander Season 2 would show its first full-fledged battle.

Outlander fans and Scottish history scholars would have realized that the title of Episode of 10 is “Prestonspans”, which refers to the first clash in the Jacobite rising that happened in 1745, notes Vanity Fair.

All this while in the show, both Jamie Fraser and Claire had been trying hard to avert the Scottish uprising and bloody battle of Culloden of 1746. However, some political events have forced too much for them and Jamie is on the front line.

However, Jamie already knows what Battle of Prestonpans would actually have and it certainly will not end with Scottish slaughter. Matt Roberts, writer-producer of Outlander, have said that the sequence in the episode has not missed the accuracy of the actual battle. And that it was a quick victory for the Jacobites.

“We stay true to the actual battle; it was about eight minutes long total and we pretty much almost show it in real time,” said Roberts.
