“Orange is the New Black” Laverne Cox confirmed that she will star in the remake of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Fox.

The actress corroborated the news herself on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Cox will portray mad scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the character actor Tim Curry portrayed in 1975 “Rocky Horror” movie.

Billboard said Dr. Frank-N-Furter is a self-described “sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania” and a scientist.

According to Fox, the upcoming “Rocky Horror Future Show” will follow the couple, Janet Weiss and Brad Majors, who stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s castle and the doctor’s living man creation in his lab.

In the 1975 movie, Janet and Brad were played by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, respectively.

Kenny Ortega of “High School Musical” will direct, choreograph, and produce the two-hour special along with Gail Berman and Lou Adler, who was also the executive producer of the cult film classic four decades ago.

The stage production “The Rocky Horror Show” first appeared in the ’70s in London’s West End. The musical, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year at the London Playhouse, has been recently aired on BBC America.

The “Rocky Horror Picture Show” reboot will air in the Fall of 2016 on Fox.

Aside from “Rocky Horror,” Cox has also been cast in the pilot of legal drama “Doubt” on CBS. Billboard noted that Cox will play a transgender lawyer, a character which was specifically created for her, in the TV series.

Meanwhile, Cox will also reprise her role as Sophia Burset in the upcoming season of OINTB.

She recently confirmed that the feud between Sophia and Gloria, played by Selenis Leyva, will continue in the next season of OINTB.

“As a viewer watching, seeing how much remorse Gloria has, I always like to believe there’s a potential for forgiveness, but this is pretty bad. This is really, really bad,” Cox said.

“Orange is the New Black” is scheduled to return for its fourth season in June 2016.
