“Orange is the New Black” star Ruby Rose and fiancé Phoebe Dahl broke up and called off their engagement.  Rose addressed the split on her Facebook account after Dahl confirmed to Us Weekly that they have broken up.

The Australian model and actress said Dahl “”remains very dear to my heart.”

“They say, ‘it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.’ I’m lucky to have had the chance to love her,” Rose added.

Dahl earlier said in a statement to Us Weekly: “While we still love each other and support each other in every way, it is our mutual decision to part ways. Our break is not the result of any media speculation, and we want nothing but the best for each other. Thank you for respecting our privacy in this very difficult time.”

People magazine reported, citing a source closed to the couple, that it was an amicable split and that their relationship couldn’t sustain the travel their respective careers required because it forced them to be always apart.

The OITNB actress also tweeted directly on the account for Dahl’s clothing line, Faircloth & Supply.

“@FAIRCLOTHSUPPLY remains very dear to my heart. I will forever treasure our time together. I’m a better person because of all we shared.”

Dahl replied on Rose tweet.

The couple had been together for two years. They announced their engagement in March 2014.

Rose, who played Stella Carlin in OITNB season three, previously said she was expecting to have a big wedding.

“As it turns out we love being engaged, and I love the word ‘fiancée.’ It’s actually nice that we do wait that extra year and get to enjoy being engaged before we ball-and-chain it,” she told People in June.

Meanwhile, there is still no word if Rose will return in the upcoming season of Netflix hit series “Orange is the New Black.  She admitted that she has no idea if her character will come back in season four.

Rose will star in “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” and “John Wick 2” alongside Keanu Reeves.
