Netflix has released nine new photos for the upcoming season of “Orange Is The New Black” and it hinted something is going to happen to Piper Chapman.
The network dropped the images, which provided hints on what will happen to some of the major characters in the hit series. In the official synopsis of OITNB season four, shared by Collider, it also teased of an impending “war” in Litchfield Penitentiary.

Based on the best-selling memoir by Piper Kerman, the newest season ofOrange delves into the racial and economic tensions that run rampant in the halls of Litchfield. Overrun with new inmates and overseen by inexperienced guards, the prison undergoes an unprecedented culture war,” the synopsis read.
Meanwhile, in one photo released by Netflix, Piper (Taylor Schilling) was seen being gagged by and Blanca (Laura Gomez) while her head is slammed down on a metal work top.
Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) is still alive but seemed to be running from guards and appears to be trapped. Alex was last seen at the end of season three, with one of her enemies infiltrating the prison and her future it hanging in the balance, Mirror wrote.
Prepon also shared the photo and captioned it: “Glasses… Eyeliner… Badge… excited to get out there and make an awesome season for you guys! #season 4 #alexvause #Oitnb #bestfansever (sic).”
Fan-favorite characters Black Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba) and Taystee (Danielle Brooks) will become friends with new inmates. Netflix recently renewed OITNB for three more years. Jenji Kohan will still be on board as executive producer and showrunner for all seven seasons. The network also offered a glimpse of OITNB season four with a teaser released earlier this year.
