“Mad Men” director Matthew Weiner directed an episode in the upcoming season of “Orange is the New Black.”
The Hollywood Reporter wrote, citing a source, Weiner is loving his stint at OITNB.
Laura Prepon also confirmed to THR that she filmed a scene with Weiner.
“We filmed a huge day on Sunday, and a lot of directors might have been overwhelmed by that, but he wasn’t and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. With a huge cast like ours, when you have a director who knows exactly what they want, it makes everything go a lot smoother. I love Matt — he’s awesome” she said.
Prepon, who played Alex Vause, however refused to divulge additional details about Weiner’s episode or the plotlines for the new season.
“I will get in a lot of trouble. But I can say the fans are going to love it,” said Prepon.
Entertainment Weekly noted that Weiner and OITNB creator Jenji Kohan are actually friends.
Weiner’s stint at OITNB was his first major series he directed, which he has not written.
Weiner has nine directorial credits in “Mad Men.” He also made “Are You Here” in 2013, which starred Jack Black, Owen Wilson, and Amy Poehler, EW noted.
Meanwhile, the cast of “Orange is the New Black” wrapped up filming season four with a karaoke party at Hudson Terrace, the Daily News reported.
“Each of the cast members belted out their favorite hits and partied until 2 a.m.,” the Daily News wrote, citing an eyewitness report.
Prepon along with other OITNB stars including Taylor Schilling, Natasha Lyonne, and Uzo Aduba closed the party with a rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” it added.
Prepon is expected to reprise her character in the Netflix hit series. Her character seemed to have died in the conclusion of season three. Prepon previously confirmed her return in OITNB and shared a photo of her on Instagram where she was wearing a jumpsuit and holding an identification card in the correctional facility.
“Orange is the New Black” season four is set to premiere in 2016.
