Speculations are still brewing that Caitlyn Jenner will appear in a guest role for “Orange is the New Black” season 4.
According to Christian Post, Jenner is being eyed to play a cameo role as the love interest of Sophia Burset, which is played by Laverne Cox.
Sophia, who is also a transgender, has been abandoned by her prison friends in season three and is facing some bullying concerns. The site noted Sophia may likely find a new friend in Jenner’s character.
However, according to Digital Spy, Netflix denied that Jenner will be joining the inmates at Litchfield Penitentiary, much so she will play a love interest for Cox’s character.
DigitalSpy quoted a Netflix spokesperson saying, “It’s not true” in reference to speculations about Jenner on OITNB.
Jenner and Cox have first met earlier this year.
In July, Jenner called Cox a “trailblazer” for the transgender community during her Arthur Ashe Courage Award acceptance speech at the 2015 ESPY Awards.
The former Olympian hailed the OITNB actress for being an inspiration to the transgender youth.
Cox had also praised Jenner for her openness about her transition and call it as a landmark moment for the LGBT community, DigitalSpy noted.
“The love and devotion she has for her family and that they have for her. Her courage to move past denial into her truth so publicly. These things are beyond beautiful to me,” Cox said.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that fans may not expect reconciliation between Sophia and Gloria (Selenis Leyva) in season four.
Cox said: “I can’t imagine. As a viewer watching, seeing how much remorse Gloria has, I always like to believe there’s a potential for forgiveness, but this is pretty bad. This is really, really bad.”
Netflix have also announced that at least three new male characters will be added in the upcoming season of the hit series.
“Orange is the New Black” season four will return on June 2016.
