Keeping in mind all the selfie-lovers out there, last month, Oppo released the A37 smartphone in China. The Oppo A37 design bears a strong resemblance to that of the Apple iPhone 6. The smartphone is believed to be launched in India with a price tag of US$289 (AU$388).

The all new Oppo A37 will arrive in Gold and Rose Gold variants. The entry-level Oppo A37 design elements are highly influenced by Apple’s much-coveted iPhone 6. The phone measures 143.1 x 71.0 x 7.68mm and weighs 136g.

Supporting dual-SIM, the new Oppo A37 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels resulting in a pixel  density of 294ppi (pixels per inch).

There is a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor to power the Oppo A37. Oppo has equipped the device with 2GB of Ram along with 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

The device is said to come packed with a 2,550mAh battery unit. Connectivity options for the Oppo A37 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, and a micro USB port.

The Oppo A37 smartphone sports an 8-megapixel main camera sensor with a 1/3.2-inch back-illuminated sensor, autofocus and LED flash paired with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera unit f/2.4 aperture, as reported by Hardware Zone. The front-facing camera sensor touts Opps’s Beautify 4.0 technology, which supports seven different levels of intelligent beautification for different skin tones. It also features Screen Flash to brighten up selfies in low-light conditions.

Earlier in March, Oppo’s strategically planned offline sales in China appeared promising. The flash sale of F1 Plus called R9 in China helped Oppo to reign as the top smartphone seller in the country.

According to an independent research company Sino-MR, in March, Oppo toppled industry leaders like Samsung and Apple and sold 180,000 units on the first day of its flash sale.  The numbers crossed the 400,000 mark in just four days.

On network carrier China Telecom, the Oppo A37 is priced at 1,299 Yuan (AU$265 or US$197).
