Tech aficionados know the drill; months before a flagship is expected to be announced, rumours and leaks begin to arrive in full-force. While some are shared by credible sources, there still happen to be some fake details that circulate the web. And one has to sift through a lot of things to get hold of the right information.
The case with OnePlus 3 is no different since the flagship is garnering its fair share of attention before it launch. And of course, there could be third-party retailers in the mix listing the specs of the upcoming device, even when nothing concrete has been mentioned by the company. As unearthed by Android Police, the listing of the OnePlus 3 on the online store, Oppomart are “completely bogus.” And as rightly noted by the site, “It [Oppomart] is not affiliated with Oppo in any way – that’s just what they call the store.”
The current OnePlus 3 listing on the site appears to have drawn information from the latest Antutu leak and the speculations swirling around. These sum up to the following details: a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The snappers on board read out to be a 16MP primary imager and an 8MP secondary one. It is also expected to run the latest Marshmallow flavour layered with OxtgenOS. As noted by the site, it is indeed strange that the listing on Oppomart only went up after the Antutu benchmark leak revealed all these details.
It is important that buyers tread with caution whenever making purchases based on information that has been “leaked” since there could well be other online retailers out there featuring a product page with information that may not be true.
For those eager to know when the much-talked about device will be launching; OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei in a recent interview with CNET shared that the device could be expected to be launched in late Q2. This very well means, fans won’t witnessing the arrival of the handset until late June 2016.
Keep coming back for more updates, rumours and speculations on OnePlus 3.
