Over the past weeks, leaks and rumors increasing in intensity gave a clear indication that the much-awaited OnePlus 3 device will be landing soon. Then came in the official word revealing that the release is sooner rather than later and the attention soon moved to gathering all the existing information on the upcoming device to draw up a clear picture.
Some details appear to be more certain than others, so here’s taking a look at what the tech aficionados are expecting from the upcoming offering.
During an interview with CNET, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei shared that he hoped the “new design” would attract eyeballs and be appreciated by users. This confirmed that the 2016 OnePlus flagship will be sporting a new design.
Recent leaks further went on to reveal that the smartphone will be sleeker and lighter as compared to the predecessor. As noted by Tech Radar, the device’s form factor would be 152.6mm x 74.6mm x 7.3mm and weigh 160g. The leaked images sure reveal a neat looking handset that is bound to pique the interest of fans of OnePlus.
Earlier reports have given fans a more or less clear picture of what the OnePlus 3 may bring for them. Under the hood, the handset is expected to hide a Snapdragon 820 processor and a 3000mAh battery. The device is said to sport a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 display and as for the camera, it will house a 16MP rear snapper and an 8MP front-facing imager.
As for the RAM on the device, it appears that there will be an option to pick from two. A variant possessing 4GB RAM with 32GB and 64GB storage options as well as a 6GB RAM model with the same internal storage choices.
The company has confirmed the release date to be June 14 and it is said that the launch will be like no other given that OnePlus 3 will be announced in a virtual reality press conference. OnePlus will also be inviting 30 fans to give the smartphone a go before anyone else in the public. Interested tech aficionados can head to the official Lab website and sign up in order to get their chance to be one of the 30 fans.
As shared by Tech Radar, one of the many pricing rumors suggest that the smartphone will be priced at $482 (CNY 2299) and $524 (CNY 2499) for the 4GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and 64GB storage, respectively. As for the 6GB RAM with 32GB storage and 64GB storage options, the pricing reads out to be $566 (CNY 2699) and $587 (CNY 2799), respectively.
