Liam Payne has been the most honest One Direction member so far, going on interviews and commenting on hot topic issues about the band. Recently, he confirmed that One Direction will “stop” soon. Does this mean the end for 1D?
In an interview with Adam Wilbourn on Free Radio, Payne revealed that the band will be taking a bit of a break to appreciate their phenomenal five-year career and to do other things.
“You know, I think everyone needs a little bit of a break now, and a sit down and a stop, to kind of take in all the great things that’ve happened,” the 21-year-old revealed, notes Hollywood Life.
One Direction has been touring and promoting for much of the past five years. They have released four albums and have travelled the world over. Their current “On the Road Again” tour is sweeping through the United States and Canada until September 12. Just 12 days after, they will be touring Europe until the end of October.
With such a tight and tiring schedule, its clear the lads need a breather. But will it be prolonged? Almost a One Direction split?
Definitely not, says Payne.
“We won’t be going anywhere for a while, so I don’t know where that’s brewed from.”
As for what he’ll be doing during the break, Liam said he’ll be doing “loads of things”.
“There’s loads of things. I’ve been writing a lot on the road at the moment, not for me, just for other people. I’ve been doing a lot of things, you know trying to get into the producing side of it which is pretty cool,” the Batman fan added.
Aside from commenting on the band’s much needed break, Liam also talked about Zayn Malik’s music.
“One Direction was never Zayn’s sort of music so he always wanted to find something else. If your heart’s not into something you can’t just carry on doing it because of fame and stuff. You have to go and do what you want to do,” Liam shared during a BBC Radio interview.
While Zayn has left Liam, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan already, Directioners can be sure that One Direction will continue to melt their hearts.
