Louis Tomlinson is the only One Direction star who has yet to announce plans for a solo recording career. Yet the lack of news about it could be intentional, as his interest now seems to lie behind the scenes.
Directioners continue to fear the worst as the popular boy band continues its hiatus. Harry Styles was the first to go solo with a movie role. Rumors are rife about who his likely collaborators for his new album are. Liam Payne made headlines when he signed with another recording company. Initially, Niall Horan ventured into golf but he is back on the music scene as well.
By contrast, news about Louis Tomlinson seems limited to his girlfriend, baby Freddie and his guesting on Simon Cowell’s shows. Hence, does he now favor a different track within the entertainment industry? Louis’ appearance as a judge on America’s Got Talent 2016 fueled greater interest in the reality TV show. Thus, it led to rumors he would also appear on the X Factor this season. While it did not happen, Simon Cowell revealed his collaboration with the 1D star as music producers. Apparently, they will support a new girl group discovered by Louis.
Back in 2015, Mail Online reported about Louis’ new company 78 Productions Limited. Moreover, Louis started scouting for new talent even then. A case in point is 5 Seconds of Summer. He and Liam saw potential in them, and now One Direction has a stake in the popular boy band. Thus, it would seem a solo recording deal is not within Louis’ immediate future. Last June, Unreality TV cited insider information about his other interests of late.
“Louis is very interested in the world of TV. He is considering opportunities both in front of the camera, including documentaries, and behind-the-scenes as a producer. He is still going to be involved in music through his record company and was recently back in the studio writing,” an insider revealed. Thus, the name of Louis Tomlinson would still likely make waves in the industry. However, it might not be in front of the camera or an audience.
