With One Direction in hiatus, the last thing their fans would want to learn is any news that could hamper their reunion. However, could their worst fear be at hand as Harry Styles pursues Hollywood?

Although the film only began filming recently, it appears he’s already been tipped for stardom, the Mirror wrote. John Papsidera is responsible for giving Harry Styles his first movie break, the publication revealed. Papsidera revealed his selection had nothing to do with Styles’ reputation as a pop star. As it turns out, the 1D singer bested other actors who read for the same role.

“Harry was absolutely right for the role. As an actor he is unknown, but his readings made him an obvious choice. We thought he was fresh and interesting and he won the role,” Papsidera said. He further revealed about Styles’ passion and determination to get the role. Hence, it impressed them and ultimately, led to their choice to cast him.

“It is absolutely his own talent, ambition and hard work that has got him a part in a Christopher Nolan movie. “It was because of his passion for being in the film, he jumped through every hurdle we put him through and really won it of his own accord,” Papsidera added.

Compared to the renowned actors that form the cast of “Dunkirk,” his role is “relatively small,” Metro described. One Direction fans can expect to see Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, and Mark Rylance in the film, the publication added.

Harry Styles made headlines following his inclusion in the Christopher Nolan movie “Dunkirk.” He further roused curiosity about his role when he cut his signature ponytail for it. “Dunkirk” hits theaters on July 21, 2017. The official synopsis released by Warner Bros. revealed the historical reference for the film. So while photos from the production hint at beach scenes, 1D fans can expect a “fair amount of wading through mud” for Harry Styles and his fellow actors, Papsidera said.
