Harry Styles has landed his first film role in Christopher Nolan’s World War 2 movie, “Dunkirk.” The enthusiastic actor is giving up the luxuries of being a boyband star in preparation for the role.
Harry Styles will live on a ship in a boot camp of sorts. According to The West Australian, the experience will supposedly help him to understand the conditions faced by soldiers during the trying time. The ship will be anchored in a secret location and Styles will have fellow actors Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, and Kenneth Branagh as roommates.
It would be interesting to know how Styles survives the boot camp. The actor has been on boats before, partying with his friends in the lap of luxury. However, with “Dunkirk,” things are set to change as the heartthrob would be living in harsh conditions sans water and electricity.
Sources close to The Sun explained that “Dunkirk” was going to be ‘massive’ and the experience would be interesting for Styles. “Harry is used to living the life of luxury so this will be a very interesting experience,” revealed the source. “He knows this boot camp at sea is a big part of the job and is keen to get stuck in. But this will be tough and producers are trying to make life on board as realistic as possible,” added the insider.
Daily Mail reveals that not only does the star have to get by on rations, but also has to stay away from smartphones and eventually social media. He will not be connected to the outside world in any way. Now that he has started getting film parts, will Styles stop making music?
Apparently not. “This is now a great chance for him to show his acting skills and put himself in the frame for more huge movie roles,” revealed the sources. “But music is still very much on his agenda and he would like to do both going forward,” they added.
