Popular boy band, One Direction, was forced to cancel their concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland after Liam Payne got sick. The cancellation announcement was made when most of the audience was already inside the venue, notes Hollywood Life.
According to Mirror UK, hundreds of excited fans had formed a queue at the arena from early morning, ahead of doors opening at 6:30 pm in the evening. Devastated Directioners traveled from all across the world just to see their idols perform at the concert before the boys go their separate ways next year.
Although the fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets, the band members Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson still apologized to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible.
Harry expressed his disappointment and tweeted, “Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast. Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We’re very sorry.”
“We’re so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control! Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding!” Louis tweeted.
As fans await more information about Payne’s condition, “#GetWellSoonLiam” started trending on Twitter. This is the first time that One Direction has ever canceled a concert due to illness, and the first time that Payne has pulled out of a performance.
According to Gossip Cop, some fans have been spreading rumors that Payne has broken some bones but this is just not true. It’s been confirmed Liam’s illness isn’t very serious, but we are definitely rooting for him. Plus, by the look of the statement from their rep, the band will (hopefully) be rescheduling their show for a later date.
So do not worry Directioners and get well soon, Mr. Payne!
