One Direction fans likely got worried when various reports about Niall Horan cited him doing other things aside from music. Fortunately, his fellow mates could have inspired the 1D star as he appears to finally be making his bid for a solo career.

Niall Horan is reportedly working on his own music following in the footsteps of former bandmate Zayn Malik and fellow 1D stars Harry Styles and Liam Payne, Refinery29 wrote. Professional songwriter, Wayne Hector, revealed the good news, the publication added. Hector worked with One Direction to help create some of its biggest hits. The publication cited Hector’s interview with the UK’s Daily Star.

“We are writing together but he wants to do it for himself and not other people at the moment. We have no idea where we’ll end up,” Hector said. However, Horan’s love of golf remains evident even in the midst of songwriting. Hector revealed his baptism of sorts to sporting events.

“Niall wants to enjoy time off but he’s introduced me to sports events. We went to a golfing thing with Rory McIlroy and Alex Ferguson,” Hector added. Horan seemed to have gone under the radar following the announcement of the One Direction hiatus. He, along with Harry Styles, were notably absent at the 2016 BRIT Awards. As a result, 1D fans panicked about its possible implications to the group’s reunion.

Yet when he resurfaced, Horan looked to have launched a new career as a golfer. Aside from playing the game, the 1D star put up his own golf agency that would recruit and manage British and Irish golfers, The Sun reported. The publication noted his likely intention to be the “Jerry Maguire of golf.”

Horan flew back recently to his home country of Ireland for the 2016 Irish Open Pro-Am, Just Jared Jr. reported. Given his enthusiasm for the sport, many fear the 1D star would quit music altogether for it. Hence, news that he is writing songs again is a boon for fans and it just might merit another celebration of #NiallDay.
