One Direction 2015: Zayn Malik New Album Details; Will be ‘Real Music’

Ex- One Direction member Zayn Malik just revealed that he has signed with a new label and promises to make “real music”.

Malik shared the good news on his Twitter and Instagram account. Seemingly very happy, the now solo singer signed a contract with RCA Records.

Malik then followed his post with another tweet, hinting the reasons why he left the group, One Direction.

Fans were left heartbroken about Malik’s decision when he bid his farewell to the group last March. He also said that he wanted to be “a normal 22-year old” as the main reason, notes New Zealand Herald.

“I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

However, soon after he left, he was reportedly building his new solo career.

The Guardian noted that Malik could be working with R&B producer Malay, who also worked with artists like John Legend and Frank Ocean to name a few.  The former 1D member will reportedly be under the company “Turn First” and managed by Sarah Stenett, who handles Iggy Azalea as well.

The site also noted that “his new direction will be more adult and less pop than One Direction’s”.

Prior to his new path, Malik was believed to be collaborating with Naughty Boy. However, their professional relationship ended after Malik’s outburst on Twitter:

One Direction hasn’t commented yet about their former band mate’s move.
