One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson finally confirmed that he is a soon-to-be dad.

In a band appearance on “Good Morning America,” host Michael Strahan casually said, “Louis, from one father to another I want to congratulate you on your upcoming fatherhood. So how are you feeling?” Vanity Fair reported.

“Thank you. Obviously it’s a very exciting time. So thank you,” Tomlinson replied.

The 23-yeara-old One Directioner’s public acknowledgement came after reports surfaced that he and stylist Briana Jungwirth are expecting their first baby. Tomlinson remained mum about it until now.

“Louis didn’t expect this, but he’s excited for it now. He’s become very close friends with Briana this year and now they are looking forward to being parents. He’s definitely going to be there and be a great dad for their baby,” Us Weekly quoted a source saying.

Tomlinson and Jungwirth, 23, will co-parent, but they are not in a relationship, the site added.

Louis and Jungwirth first met through mutual friends following the Brit pop star’s breakup from longtime girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, last March.

A day before Louis admission, Liam Payne said he was totally shocked that his bandmate is going to be a father.

Payne told Jo Parkerson of U.K. radio station Magic, “Well, obviously I was a bit shocked, but he’s taken super well to it. He’s very excited with what’s going on with him at the moment and I feel that stuff like that happens sometimes. He’s taking it very seriously.”

The boy band’s mentor, Simon Cowell, also has a fatherly advice for his Louis.

“I said to him, ‘You man up. You’re fortunate because you’re in a position to be able to look after the baby and not worry too much about that,” Cowell told The Sun newspaper after rumors came up.

“He didn’t kill anyone. He got someone pregnant. It happens every day all over the world. Again, Louis has got great family around him and, look, it’s a plus, not a negative,” he added.
