Nina Dobrev ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Return? Ian Somerhalder to Blame for Falling Out [Rumors]

Nina Dobrev is rumored to be coming back to “The Vampire Diaries”. However, reports reveal the actress is not interested in the idea.

Dobrev left the show in season six allegedly because of Ian Somerhalder’s relationship with his now wife, Nikki Reed.

In the previous season of “The Vampire Diaries,” Nina’s character, Elena Gilbert, was kept alive after Kai cast a sleeping spell on her and linking her life with Bonnie in a way that Elena would only wake up when Bonnie dies, the International Business Times reported.

This means Elena could come back from her deep sleep anytime but the question remains – Does Dobrev want to reprise her role?

Nina does not seem to be interested in returning to TVD and get tangled with Somerhalder and Reed’s relationship.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Nina is reaching out to her celebrity friends to seemingly promote herself for other roles than making efforts to come back in the television series.

During the San Diego Comic-Con in July, Somerhalder and other TVD cast members have teased the possible return of Dobrev’s character, MTV reported.

“She’s still there, dude. She’s in a casket. She’s having a nap,” Somerhalder said.

It has been rumored that Reed is also preventing the reunion of the former real-life lovers. Somerhalder and Dobrev have dated for three years before they split in 2013.

There were also speculations that Reed was still worried that Somerhalder would rekindle his romance with Dobrev.

According to IBTimes, this is also the reason why Somerhalder was a no-show at the Teen Choice Awards recently.

Dobrev accepted their Best Kiss Award but she did not mention the former co-star in her acceptance speech.

“The last two months have been a pretty big change for me,” she said, adding how “change is a scary word … because it meant new beginnings. Change is necessary. Necessary for you to grow and to learn and to better yourself because everything in life comes to an end and as this chapter of my life comes to an end I look back at it with a grateful heart, and I smile.”

“The Vampire Diaries” is currently filming season seven which will on 8 October on CW.
