Dobrev threw an emoji-theme bash at Aventine in Los Angeles on Jan. 9 for her birthday, according to Us Weekly. Friends who attended her party included her boyfriend Austin Stowell, Nick Jonas, Hailee Steinfeld, Adam DeVine, Chace Crawford, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough and Seth McFarlane.

“They seem super happy together,” an insider at the bash told Us Weekly of Dobrev and Stowell. “They have a really great genuine connection.”

Meanwhile there is speculation in the media that Dobrev might me back on the hit CW series TVD as Elena. TVD series creator Julie Plec recently said she missed Dobrev on the show and would readily agree to take her back in the series if Dobrev wants to.

“On an emotional level, it’s sad because she’s Nina Dobrev and she was Elena and we all love her and loved that character, but on a creative level, it’s been refreshing in ways that I cannot even explain,” Plec told Variety.

“Yes, I miss her [ Nina Dobrev ] deeply and would take her back in an instant if she called and said, ‘Hey, can I come back and play?'” Plec added.
